Dr. Pallavi Chawla
April 22, 1976 – February 18, 2025

 

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Dr. Pallavi Chawla, who left this world peacefully on February 18, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. A brilliant physician, a compassionate person, and and dedicated educator, Dr. Pallavi touched countless lives through her remarkable 48-year journey.

Born in 1976 to doctor parents, who instilled in her a lifelong passion for learning, Pallavi demonstrated exceptional intellect and determination from an early age. She obtained her MBBS from Indira Gandhi Medical College, Shimla, and completed her Residency in Pathology at KLE University, Belgaum.

Dr. Pallavi’s commitment to advancing medical education and healthcare was evident through her work as Director Operations – Academics, British Association of Physicians of Indian Origin Training Academy (BTA) and earlier as Assistant General Manager, Academics at Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket, New Delhi. She spearheaded programs like the MRCP-UK PACES & IMT program, which gained global recognition. Her efforts enabled numerous students to excel and fostered international collaborations with medical institutions in the UK.

Dr. Pallavi was also passionate about education and skill development. She played a key role in postgraduate training for doctors, nurses, and paramedical professionals, contributing to certification programs in association with esteemed organisations. Her collaborations expanded training opportunities and ensured high standards of healthcare education.

Earlier in her career, Dr. Pallavi completed a Fellowship in Genetics at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi, where she conducted research on genetic disorders and foetal autopsies. She also served as a Senior Research Fellow at AIIMS, New Delhi, focusing on research in diabetes and nuclear cardiology. Her academic achievements were exceptional, including clearing the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) and pursuing observerships in the USA.

Beyond her professional achievements, Dr. Pallavi was a devoted mother to Ryka, and a loving wife to Nitin Gandhi, who describes her as the perfect daughter, wife, sister and mother. Her parents, Dr Ravindra and Dr Usha Chawla ,sister Dr Madhavi Chawla and brother Dr Kunal Chawla survive her, along with extended family who cherished her wisdom, warmth, and infectious laughter.

Dr. Pallavi approached life with boundless curiosity and compassion. An avid traveller, voracious reader, and someone who effortlessly blended style and individuality, she embraced each day as an opportunity to learn and grow. Her colleagues remember her as a brilliant mentor who elevated everyone around her through her generosity of spirit and unwavering integrity.
