BAPIO Training Academy (BTA) is proud to announce that its Chief Executive Officer, Professor Parag Singhal, has been awarded the prestigious Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the King’s Birthday Honours List 2025, in recognition of his outstanding services to global healthcare education and international medical collaboration.
Speaking on the announcement, Professor Singhal expressed humility and for it to be an unexpected honour:
“It is incredibly humbling to be included on the King’s Honours List. The news is still sinking in. I am honoured and grateful that the work we have been doing over the years has been recognised. Our efforts have always been focused on empowering doctors, reshaping how medical education is delivered, and strengthening healthcare links between the UK and India.”
BTA’s mission is rooted in addressing the critical challenges faced by international medical graduates, including gaps in procedural experience, diagnostic reasoning, difficulties in applying theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios, and limited access to leadership development opportunities. Through targeted training, mentorship, and international healthcare partnerships, BTA equips young doctors with the skills and support they need to thrive in diverse and demanding healthcare environments.
At the heart of this mission is a commitment to creating clinicians and leaders of the 21st century – medical professionals who are not only skilled in clinical care but also equipped to lead, innovate, and drive change within global healthcare systems.
“This recognition is not only a personal milestone but a tribute to the dedication of my colleagues at BTA. It will inspire us to do even more—launch more meaningful projects, deepen international collaboration, and continue making a tangible difference in the lives of young medical professionals,” Professor Singhal added.
The OBE award highlights BTA’s growing impact on global health education and underscores the importance of continued innovation and cooperation in international medical training.
